I just..... a poem on procrastination

I just..... a poem on procrastination

So many poems are inspired by the idiosyncrasies of my family members, especially the children, who are an important tonic against taking yourself too seriously!

This one was written for my two favourite procrastinators who dedicate many hours each day to the perfection of their art. I was compelled to write it after a week’s holiday with another family brought home quite how good they are at procrastinating.

In the interest of honesty, I do have to acknowledge their genes on my side don't help much!"

I JUST…….

"A page half- read.
A game half-played

A step half-taken;
A movement stayed

A dance remembered; A task forgot;
Songwords repeated that will not stop

The carpet’s now a yoga mat,
Who knew my toes could move like that!

An urgent thought on how to dress
for that occasion
In ten months

or less!

Cross voices rising….

Not going away.

"Clean Teeth?,

“What...
Now?"

“I just…”.

“OK.”
