This postcard has a poem for parents feeling exhausted by meeting all of the practical and emotion needs of their children. It reminds us that God has an infinite willingness to do this for us. I like to think of him cheering us on in our efforts to model grace to our children.  St Paul's Tongham gave out the postcards on Mothering Sunday. “Such beautiful words. It’s by my computer and I keep reading it!” said a congregant. For more on the poem see the related blog post.

More Than Four Walls: What Makes a House a Home

Moving house often makes us think we’re only changing our surroundings, but home is about far more than bricks, paint colours and furniture. During lockdown, many of us became deeply aware of the four walls around us, noticing both the comforts of home and the tensions within it. A move can bring fresh space, a bigger garden or a new view, but the true heart of a home travels with us.

Home is shaped by the people who live there, the habits they create, the kindness they share and the challenges they work through together. It has its own identity, constantly growing and changing over time. New surroundings can bring calm, fresh perspective and room to breathe, but the foundations of home remain the relationships and love within it.

This reflection inspired the creation of our New Home Card, designed to celebrate not just a house move, but the life, warmth and memories that turn a house into a home. A thoughtful way to mark a new chapter and all that will grow within those walls.
